School Circus Skills Workshops & Shows

World Book Day/ Book Week

Magic, Witches and Wizards, Fantastic Beasts and all the fun of the Circus.

Juggling John loves World Book Day! Especially when there are lots more magicians and other fantastic costumes in the audience.

How about a magic and circus show for the whole school followed by circus or magic workshops for individual classes?

A typical programme would be a twenty minute assembly and then individual 20-45 minute sessions with groups of up to 30 pupils. Sessions are adapted for each key stage and can be changed to fit around your school day. A typical one hour circus skills session would include:

Demonstrating and having a go at juggling – bean bags and/ or scarves
Demonstrating and trying spinning plates
Having a go at diabolos
Learning to spin streamer poi

Why circus skills?

To develop team work, achieve new skills, improve co-ordination and communication skills, skill sharing, confidence building and for those pupils who benefit from hands on and kinaesthetic learning And mainly because it is fun and brings some colour and excitement into school!

It’s official! – juggling is good for the brain!

A recent report found that….
”brain scans of volunteers showed that throwing balls in the air alters the brain in the regions that process visual information….the imaging scans revealed an increase in grey matter….”

German research reported nationally – January 04 – quote from AOL news
